What is Research Story?
A cozy farming and research sim. You play as a researcher documenting wild flora and fauna for the Violet Archive.
How does creature taming work?
You observe creatures in the wild to learn their diet and habitats. Feed them their preferred food and you can bring them to your farm to raise them.
Is there combat in the game?
No. The focus is entirely on exploration and research.
Can I customize my character?
Yes. You can customize your appearance at the start of the game and change hairstyles/outfits later.

What platforms is the game available on?
The game is currently available on PC via Steam.
Does the game have controller support?
Yes. Full controller support is implemented for the game.
Is the game Steam Deck Verified?
Yes.
What languages does the game support?
The game supports English and Simplified Chinese.

Is there multiplayer?
Research Story is built from the ground up as a single-player experience. There are currently no plans for multiplayer.
Will there be DLC or expansions?
We are focusing on updating the base game. Check our Steam announcements page for any development updates.
Any plans for console ports?
We're currently looking into a Switch port. Stay tuned for updates!

I found a bug! How do I report it?
Please report bugs in our official Discord server or under the Bug Reports section on our Steam Community Hub. You can also send your report directly from the Main Menu (button in bottom right corner) along with your save file.
